1. Why did you join ABSA?

I joined for the people. ABSA members were interested in building a relationship with me. Our conversations made me feel seen and appreciated for who I was. This initial encounter summarizes the supportive ABSA experience I had last year and the experience I want to help create for each of you this year.

2. What is your favorite ABSA memory?

Shoveling hundreds of pounds of mulch with other volunteers for Casa Marianella, a local homeless shelter. Shoutout Derek Wintergrass for getting us McDonald's after!

3. If you could give one piece of advice to your freshman self, what would it be?

Be kind to yourself. You are the most important person in your life and your wellbeing matters more than anything you put in this. When you struggle, fail, doubt, hurt someone, cry, get misunderstood, and feel like giving up, those are the most important opportunities to be strong, kind, forgiving, faithful, and tell yourself, "I can do this."

4. What is your favorite food/ favorite place to eat in Austin?

I love dim sum, tofu, and noodle dishes. Here's a restaurant list in no particular order:

On-Campus

  • Panda Express (Texas Union) $

  • CoCo's Cafe $$

  • Pinch (food truck) $

  • Gyro Delicious (food truck) $

  • Cabo Bob's $

  • Pizza Press $$

Off-Campus

  • Julie's Noodles $$

  • Pinthouse Pizza (split with a group) $

  • Bamboo House $$

1. Follow Christ

2. Sing on a big stage for hundreds of people

3. Be interviewed by Mel Robbins

4. Run a marathon with my friend

5. Wake up everyday grateful to be alive

6. What fictional character best represents you?

Koby from One Piece (when he was still Alvida's weak cabin boy)
